Notes: I am certain JKR thinks Tonk's power is awesome. Tonks can he anyone she wants to be. Anyone and no one. I have always wondered what she sees in the mirror, who she sees in the mirror. Anyone or no one? Her wanting to be with Remus makes more sense if you take her power into consideration. She can be anyone. How much easier would it be for her to know exactly what the
other person wants ...

I feel that she could be a very interesting character if JKR had bothered to go there, even briefly. The whole clumsyness issue does hint at it i.e. that she does not have a real sense of her own body. But instead ...

I like the idea of her trying to someone else because she has no self. We all take it for granted that we see 'us' when we see a reflection. But if you can be anyone you want to be, how do you choose?

	This is fantastic. Like I said the other night, it holds up a mirror to the way JKR portrayed Tonks: implicit in her gift is a loss of self, but it gets deflated into a cheap romantic loss. Really, really great work here. loves And is that an Oldman!Sirius I see? Yay! (Reply to this) (Thread)
